Playing History:
Started playing in 1993, my first instrument being the tenor horn. Soon saw sense with that and switched over to trumpet!
Favourite Piece?
Orange Juice is ace, as is MacArthur Park.
Worst Piece?
Any swing music arranged for brass band.
Proudest banding moment?
Y'know what, I have no idea! Done loads of big gigs which were ace - playing for Les Mis at the Bridgewater was great, playing in some of the massive churches in Germany was also breathtaking. Can't think of a moment that made me proud really. Maybe someone else can.
Most embarrassing moment?
As a trumpet player, we don't do things by halves so when we make a mistake... you know about it! Namely the "One Last Shot" section from the Pirates Of The Caribbean. Long, smooth phrase. Top Db. Big room (plenty of echo). Needs air to get it. With air (for me) comes volume. Splits said Top Db. 'Nuff said.
I dep'ed for a rehearsal of Oklahama for a friend. I missed the 'tram tracks' at the end of the song Oklahoma. Played it with utter confidence to be fair... I was just the only one who played it.
