Brass at the Guild 2011

Posted on: 17 February 2011

The band secured a third place at the Preston Guild Hall on Sunday February 6th. Playing A Royal Mile Suite we took to the stage feeling confident after a good run of rehearsals in the lead up to the contest.

Although we got rained on while waiting to go in to the Charter Theatre changing rooms everyone was in good spirits and being in Third Section means we are no longer up at the crack of dawn to attend contests so everybody was wide awake and suprisingly happy.

We extend our thanks to Andy Griffiths and Karl Stott who stepped in to fill a couple of holes that we have at the minute, it is always a pleasure taking to the stage with such quality stand-ins and I am sure they helped settle the band and put on a fantastic performance. This contest also saw a debut performance from Tom Molyneux who has joined us on the front row in time for the Areas.

We now look forward to playing for a place in the 4th Section National Finals by competitng on John Gollands Prelude, Song and Dance in Blackpool at the end of February.
