Sunday May 2nd was a very VERY early morning for us. We were drawn 2nd in the 4th section at Buxton contest, which meant we had to there at 830, so everyone was up and about very early.
We had chosen to play Triptych by Philip Sparke we were happy with our performance, and recognised there were some blips, and could have perhaps hoped for a bit better than our result but we came 9th on the day, receiving some very positive remarks and comments.
Congratulations to everyone that took part and to all of the winners.
Thats it for major contests until after summer, of course we are taking part in Whit Friday on May 28th, so come along and support us there and of course visit the events page so you can come and support us throughout summer.
Thanks to Mike on Sop and Tara on Flugel who stood in and supported Chrissy on Cornet after some last minute hiccups before our concert today.
The President once again hosts a very popular and entertaining concert that is free to the patrons. Thanks to all patrons goes out from the band.
We had a great night out at Whit Friday and came out with a Best 4th Section at Friezland, we are still waiting on the full list of results.
After an obsecenely early start Blackley secure 9th at Buxton Contest playing Philip Sparke's Triptych.
SADDLEWORTH Male Voice Choir were the guests of Blackley Brass Band in what proved to be a most successful concert enjoyed by a packed house.
