Fundraising ‘fun’

The band members at the recent AGM committed themselves to having a concentrated effort this year on fundraising with the aim of raising enough money to purchase a new stage uniform.

The current black blazer uniform was introduced as a step up from the black shirts a year or so ago and it was only ever intended to be an interim solution so this year we will be undertaking some interesting and challenging activities to help us raise the money towards a fresh new uniform.

Please support us in these activities by sponsoring band members or even taking part yourself, currently under discussion is a ‘sponsored blow’ where players will be putting their stamina to the test by performing for around 8 during the day. Also on the cards is a hike up Scafell Pike, there are some keen walkers amongst us who dreamt this one up, but it isn’t just them doing it the less outdoorsy people will also be getting involved (even if we don’t make it all the way up!). We are open to suggestions as well, if you know of anyone who’s looking to donate to a good cause or who wants a band or team for a wacky unusual event we may be willing to get involved in the pursuit of improving our image.

All of these activities also mean we socialise and bond as a band and that connection comes across on stage and our concerts will improve as a result, so even if you can’t contribute to the fundraising activities we hope you can still support us at our concerts so keep your eye on the Events page.

We also hope to return to France in 2014 and will be using this as the start of our fundraising initiatives, so look out for more news soon about activities and opportunities to get involved with the band from a different perspective.
