We competed in the Whit Friday contests on Friday May 28th.
Unfortunately we didn't get off to the best of starts as our coach got stuck in traffic and we were late setting off from the bandroom.
We eventually competed in 5 contests, Lydgate, Friezland, Greenfield, Stalybridge Celtic and Hurst Cross. We had a great night out, and enjoyed bumping into friends across all of the different venues, a special treat was seeing Disney Brass at Friezland, and we definitely recommend you search them out on YouTube.
We are still awaiting a full breakdown of results but from the good news we are hearing is that we won the best 4th section band at Friezland contest, coming 9th overall, so a great result there for us.
Once we have a full list of results we will post them up so you can see how we did.
Thanks to Mike on Sop and Tara on Flugel who stood in and supported Chrissy on Cornet after some last minute hiccups before our concert today.
The President once again hosts a very popular and entertaining concert that is free to the patrons. Thanks to all patrons goes out from the band.
We had a great night out at Whit Friday and came out with a Best 4th Section at Friezland, we are still waiting on the full list of results.
After an obsecenely early start Blackley secure 9th at Buxton Contest playing Philip Sparke's Triptych.
SADDLEWORTH Male Voice Choir were the guests of Blackley Brass Band in what proved to be a most successful concert enjoyed by a packed house.
